SUMMARY:Cyber Simulation Real-Time Workshop - Online Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The CrowdStrike Incident Response Team invites you to this real-time cyber simulation workshop\, featuring a brand-new scenario. \nBased on real adversaries actively targeting organisations today\, the session offers a realistic view into how fast-moving attacks develop – and how key decisions shape the outcome. \nThroughout the exercise\, you’ll gain insights into how sophisticated threat actors gain an initial foothold\, move across endpoint\, AI and cloud environments\, escalate their operations and challenge even well-prepared teams. \nThis workshop is designed to provide practical guidance on how to navigate a real cyber incident — whom to involve\, how to prioritise and which early decisions influence the outcome. We focus on sharing frontline experience and actionable insights to help you prepare for scenarios every organisation must be ready to manage. \nChoose-Your-Own-Adventure Format\nIn this interactive format\, you take the lead. \nAt every stage of the simulation\, you vote via a poll app provided by us on critical decisions that determine the direction of the incident. Across 5–7 injects\, your collective choices influence escalation paths\, response options and the remaining time window. \nThis scenario focuses on a financially motivated adversary targeting a European financial services organisation\, turning an initial endpoint compromise into a wider attack spanning AI systems\, cloud infrastructure and sensitive production data — reflecting how the enterprise attack surface is evolving as AI becomes embedded across the organisation. \nThe CrowdStrike Incident Response Team will be joined by Tim Jones from our Law Firm Partner\, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. When a cyberattack occurs\, organizations face a complex web of legal obligations and potential liabilities. Our guest speaker Tim Jones will examine these legal aspects. \nBenefits of Attending\nRealistic\, risk-free training: Experience a controlled environment that mirrors the pace\, ambiguity and pressure of real cyber incidents. \nDecision-making under pressure: Evaluate signals\, prioritise actions and navigate uncertainty as the scenario unfolds. \nUnderstanding modern adversary behaviour: Gain visibility into how modern adversaries combine endpoint\, identity\, AI and cloud attack paths to achieve their objectives. \nCollaboration and communication: Work alongside peers and experience first-hand how coordination impacts containment and recovery. \nKnowledge exchange: Hear different perspectives and best practices from attendees across industries. \nTime sensitivity: See how risk levels shift with each decision – and how CrowdStrike would have responded at each stage\, and why. \nGood to Know\nThe session is highly interactive and conducted in English. \nIt is particularly relevant for CISOs\, SOC Managers\, Incident Response Analysts and Incident Management Teams\, but the session is open to all interested participants. \nOrganisations may register unlimited participants – the exercise works exceptionally well as a team activity. \nOne day prior to the event\, you will receive practical details and preparation instructions for the poll tool.

SUMMARY:L-DIH Talks: Cybersecurity Essentials for SMEs
DESCRIPTION:About L-DIH Talks \nThe L-DIH Talks is a series of webinars designed to inspire future-oriented manufacturing companies eager to leverage emerging technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Held twice a month\, the series provides essential insights\, expert advice and connections to drive the digital transformation of the sector in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. \nOctober marks European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM)\, an annual EU-wide initiative to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats and promote safer online practices across citizens and organisations. As part of this campaign\, the Luxembourg Digital Innovation Hub (L-DIH) at Luxinnovation is contributing with a practical webinar designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises. \nCybersecurity is a business continuity imperative. This webinar gives SMEs across Luxembourg and the Greater Region the knowledge and reflexes they need to protect both their IT infrastructure and their operational technology (OT)\, in line with Luxembourg’s digital agenda\, the EU digital strategy and frameworks such as GDPR. \nOverview \nIt is a reality: small and medium-sized enterprises are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks\, often because they hold valuable data but have fewer defences in place. A single incident can halt production\, expose customer information and damage hard-won trust. \nThis webinar gives you a clear\, practical starting point. It covers the essentials every SME should have in place\, explained in plain language with no technical background required. \nJust as importantly\, it looks at two sides of security that are often confused: \n\nprotecting your IT systems (email\, files\, business software)\nand protecting your OT — the production machines and industrial control systems that keep operations running.\n\nThe risks and the responses are not the same\, and this webinar explains the difference simply. \nYou will learn where the most common weaknesses lie\, the low-cost habits that block most attacks\, and how to respond if something goes wrong. Examples reflect the reality of businesses across the Grand Duchy and the Greater Region.

SUMMARY:European Cybersecurity Fest - Vilnius
DESCRIPTION:The shortage of cybersecurity professionals in Europe\, and the world\, is growing. According to the 2025 (ISC)² Cybersecurity Workforce Study\, organisations globally need around 4 million additional cybersecurity professionals to maintain adequate security and address threats. Europe accounts for a substantial portion of this gap\, despite increased investment in cybersecurity education. \nHow can Europe better address cybersecurity skills challenges in an era of AI\, geopolitical threats\, and growing demands for digital sovereignty? This is the question the 2026 edition of the European Cybersecurity Fest poses. \nAbout this event\nJoin the European Cybersecurity Fest on 14 October 2026\, either in person in Vilnius\, Lithuania\, or online. The event will run from 10:00–16:00 EEST (Vilnius local time) for onsite participants and 09:00–15:00 CEST (Brussels time) for online participants. \nThis is a unique opportunity to hear about the replicable model created by CyberHubs\, the European Network of Cybersecurity Skills Hubs. The CyberHubs network brings education\, industry\, and policymakers together to strengthen the cybersecurity skills ecosystem from national level to Europe. You will leave the event with concrete ideas on how you can be a part of an existing CyberHub in your country and build one if you don’t have a CyberHub yet. And what’s more\, you will meet other cybersecurity stakeholders across Europe! \nThemes and topics include \n\nCybersecurity workforce needs and skills gaps across Europe;\nPractical approaches to education-industry collaboration;\nCyberHubs network: a national and cross-border cooperation model;\nDigital tools supporting upskilling and reskilling;\nLong-term sustainability and scalability of the CyberHubs network\n\nParticipants will also discover interactive demonstrations\, real-life use cases\, and concrete examples of collaboration supporting cybersecurity skills development across Europe. \nFurther details and registration\nRegister to secure your spot now! \nMore information is available on this page.

SUMMARY:3rd International conference on digital skills\, IT professionalism and informatics education
DESCRIPTION:Skill[set] is an international conference dedicated to digital skills\, IT professionalism\, and informatics education. It brings together researchers\, educators\, policymakers\, and practitioners to exchange insights on how competences related to computing\, data\, and digital technologies are developing in a rapidly changing world. \nAs digital transformation continues to shape organisations\, research environments\, and everyday life\, the conference provides a space to explore how professional roles\, educational pathways\, and societal expectations around digital competence are evolving. \nA new format\nBuilding on the previous ICODSIP conference series\, Skill[set] continues an established international dialogue on the development of digital competences and IT professionalism. \nThe 2026 Skill[set] conference is organised by the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V.). While continuing the themes of previous editions\, the GI aims to expand the discussion by placing stronger emphasis on informatics competences and the role of educational technologies in competence development and learning. \nCall for papers and presentations\nSubmissions to this conference are invited in two formats: papers and presentations. Both formats address the same thematic tracks: \nTrack 1:  IT professionalism: informatics\, data and e-competences\nThe IT workforce is a key enabler of digital transformation in organisations\, research\, and society. As technologies\, data practices\, and software environments evolve rapidly – especially in light of (generative) Artificial Intelligence (AI)\, the requirements for IT professionals are also changing. Beyond addressing talent shortages\, there is a growing need to better understand how professional roles\, competence profiles\, and qualification pathways develop in increasingly data-intensive\, software-driven\, and interdisciplinary work contexts. \nTrack 2: Digital competences and skills\nDigital transformation continues to shape work\, education\, and everyday life worldwide. Its benefits\, however\, depend not only on access to technologies but also on people’s ability to use them effectively\, critically\, and responsibly. This requires a broad and evolving understanding of digital competences that goes beyond operational skills and includes the capacities needed to navigate increasingly data-driven\, AI-mediated\, and digitally connected environments. \nTrack 3: Informatics and Digital Education\nWithout a strong educational foundation in informatics education\, neither individuals\, institutions\, nor societies can truly understand\, meaningfully shape\, or thoughtfully question digital transformation. Beyond preparing future IT professionals\, it contributes to the development of foundational competencies. This includes not only technical understanding\, but also the ability to work with data\, computational approaches\, digital tools\, and emerging AI systems in responsible\, reflective\, and context-sensitive ways.
