SUMMARY:Athens Innovation Summit: A Value-Based Vision for the Future
DESCRIPTION:Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis\, Nobel laureate and co-founder & CEO of Google DeepMind\, Demis Hassabis and co-founder & CEO of Endeavor\, Linda Rottenberg\, meet at the Herodes Atticus Conservatory for a special discussion on Artificial Intelligence\, ethics and the values that should guide the AI era. \nOn 12 September 2025\, under the shadow of the Acropolis\, in the ancient theatre that for almost two millennia has been hosting humanity’s most important questions\, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis\, Nobel laureate and co-founder & Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis\, and Endeavor co-founder & CEO Linda Rottenberg\, will meet for a meaningful discussion on technology and ethics. \nThe following speakers will participate in the main discussion of the Athens Innovation Summit\, organized by Endeavor Greece in collaboration with Google Greece: \n\nKyriakos Mitsotakis\, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic. His government has highlighted digitalisation and innovation as key pillars of Greece’s economic recovery and has reshaped the country’s international image.\nDemis Hassabis\, Co-founder & CEO of Google DeepMind and Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2024. He was honoured for his pioneering contribution to the development of Artificial Intelligence systems (such as AlphaFold)\, which decoded protein structures on a large scale – a discovery with huge implications for medicine and life sciences.\nLinda Rottenberg\, Co-founder & CEO of Endeavor\, with many years of action in promoting high impact entrepreneurship in emerging markets around the world.\n\nTogether\, they will explore how the principles of human dignity\, respect for democratic institutions and shared prosperity can guide the development of breakthrough technologies – in particular Artificial Intelligence. They will also discuss how countries can harness innovation to accelerate inclusive growth while protecting the openness of their societies. \nThe importance of the Athens Innovation Summit for Greece \nOver the last decade\, Greece has transformed from an example of an economic crisis into a success story and an Innovation Nation. Targeted reforms\, a radical digital transformation of public services and a more investment- and technology-friendly environment have repositioned the country as an attractive way to work\, create\, invest and live. \nThe talented Greek diaspora is returning (or participating remotely)\, global tech giants are strengthening their presence in Greece and a new generation of founders of fast-growing companies (scale-ups) is making its appearance. Athens Innovation Summit 2 uses this momentum to formulate a bold proposal:  Greece can be a reference point for the international debate on the values that will shape the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) – a role that is uniquely aligned with its philosophical heritage. \nBuilding a Tradition: From the First Athens Innovation Summit to Today \nThe Athens Innovation Summit has its roots on 14 July 2022\, when Endeavor Greece organized an innovation milestone at the Herodes Atticus Conservatory. That historic evening included a discussion between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis\, Ted Sarandos (Co-CEO & Chief Content Officer\, Netflix) and Linda Rottenberg\, which took place in the presence of thousands of attendees from Greece and around the world. \nThe program combined modern innovation with classic appeal: Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody dramatically recited Pericles’ Epitaph\, linking ancient democratic ideals to the modern business world. \nThe promise of that evening – to create a world-class innovation forum with Greek roots but international reach – continues with the 2nd Athens Innovation Summit\, which this time places Artificial Intelligence (AI)and disruptive technologies at the heart of the discussion\, welcoming Google  as a partner. \n©ICTPLUS

SUMMARY:A Deep Dive into QKD Protocols
DESCRIPTION:Following the success of our first webinar in May – which introduced the fundamentals of quantum networks and their role in Europe’s transition to quantum-secure communication – this second session will take a closer look at the protocols that make Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) possible. \n\n\nWhat you’ll learn: \n\n\n\nPrepare-and-Measure & Entanglement-Based Protocols — Prof. André Xuereb will explain how PRISM integrates QKD into operational fibre networks and how HYPERSPACE leverages entanglement for ultra-secure data transmission.\n\n\n\n\nSecurity of High-Dimensional QKD — Florian Kanitschar will present how high-dimensional protocols improve efficiency and resilience\, even in noisy free-space environments.\n\n\n\nWhether or not you attended the first webinar\, this session offers a valuable opportunity to build your understanding – from the basics of QKD to advanced applications that will shape Europe’s secure networks of tomorrow.

SUMMARY:Digital Skills Talks 14th episode ''Greener Skills\, Smarter Futures: Going Digital for the Planet'' with Wanda Saabeel and Francesca Borgonovi
DESCRIPTION:The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform is back with the 14th episode of the Digital Skills Talks\, a series of short and interactive monthly conversations with top experts from across Europe. These talks aim to highlight emerging digital technologies and the essential skills needed to navigate them. \nOn 15 July at 09:30 CEST\, the episode  ”Greener Skills\, Smarter Futures: Going Digital for the Planet” will focus on the digital and green transition\, often referred to as “twins”. \nMeet the experts:\nJoin us for a 30-minute discussion with experts in digital-skills frameworks\, ICT standards for education\, and data-driven global skills policy. \n\n\nWanda Saabeel\, Senior Consultant at EduSerPro\, a Dutch cooperative that aims to improve education and training by providing services in the field of VET and higher education for both private and public institutions \n\n\nFrancesca Borgonovi\, Head of Skills Analysis in the OECD Centre for Skills\, responsible for the biennial Skills Outlook publication. \n\n\nAbout the episode\nDigital transformation and sustainability are usually treated as parallel priorities—tech teams talk in bits and bytes\, while sustainability leads speak in tonnes of CO₂. What happens when we treat them as two sides of the same challenge? In this episode we unravel that very question\, examining how data-driven thinking\, systems design\, and circular-economy mind-sets can be braided into a single\, future-proof skill set. \nRegister here to join the episode. \nStay updated by following @DigitalSkillsEU on Facebook  and  X and subscribing to our newsletter!

SUMMARY:Modern Retail - Using Data & AI for Growth
DESCRIPTION:Modernising Retail Reporting Without Breaking What Already Works\nMany retail teams still rely on Excel to track sales and stock\, face reporting gaps during ERP migrations\, and struggle with slow or outdated BI tools.
